UPDATE: 5TH JULY 2018. The total amount raised by the customers and staff at the Broadview, together with Chris’s family and friends for our appeal now stands at £1,356.92 plus Gift Aid where applicable. Huge, huge thanks to everyone for supporting Chris on his challenge!
On Sunday 1st July, Chris from the Broadview Wine Bar in Oulton Broad, was blessed with the most perfect conditions to take up his Sky Dive Challenge. The balmy weather, gentle breeze and cloudless skies made it ideal conditions to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet and descend at speeds over 140mph on a tandem sky dive.
Chris is among the team of fantastic people who have taken up the Sky Dive Challenge to raise funds for our appeal. Having had to postpone twice due to weather conditions, when he got suited up on Sunday Chris was excited to be able to finally take to the skies.
The skies were so clear the plane was visible from the ground at 13,000 feet and you could see them leave the plane. Chris was supported by his wife, family and friends who cheered very loudly when he landed and the grins on their faces were as big as the grin on Chris’s face!
The customers at the Broadview have been very generous and together with his friends and family, have helped Chris raise an amazing £1,277.62 plus Gift Aid where applicable, so far with more to be added. We are very grateful to Chris for taking up this challenge and to everyone that has supported him in his fundraising campaign.
" When my life is finally measured...
... in months, weeks, days, hours.
I want to live free of pain,
free of indignity, free of fear, free of loneliness.
Give me shelter, give me your hand.
Give me your care, your understanding, give me your love.
Then let me go peacefully, and help my family to understand."
