All at East Coast Hospice were saddened and shocked to hear that the lights on our planted Christmas Tree, that is based on the charity’s owned hospice site, have been vandalised and the wire to the lights cut through in four places.
Our Lights of Love appeal, which is into its third year and runs from the 1st to the 31st December, is a chance for loved ones to remember family and friends sadly missed, especially at Christmas time.
A statement issued by our Chairman Jennifer Beesley reads:
I was extremely distressed on Tuesday 4th December to hear of the deplorable act of juvenile vandalism which has resulted in the lights being extinguished.
My distress reflects concern for the feelings of the many sponsors of our ‘Lights of Love’ appeal having read their messages regarding their loved ones.
Rest assured, the Lights will be replaced and shine again in memory of our loved ones.
East Coast Hospice is the people’s charity. How any individual can do this to another is beneath contempt!
