A fantastic £5,500 pounds was raised at the East Coast Hospice Inaugural Charity Golf Day which was held on the 28th September at Gorleston Golf Club with the event very kindly sponsored by Morgan Sindall East.
Golfers from as far as Kent joined local companies to take part in the day and what a day it was, with all hoping to win the ‘Hole in One Prize’ of a £15,000 VW Polo which was supplied by Robinsons Volkswagen Lowestoft.
Teams taking part where Morgan Sindall, RWE Generation, NBC Group, Persimmon Homes, Alcock Lees Partnership, Richard Utting Associates and Knight Group. Hole sponsorships being received from Morgan Sindall, Osisris Technologies, Persimmon Homes, GDC Ltd, SPP Digital, Paul Robinson Partnership and SLM Toyota Lowestoft. Donations for the auction generously received from Broad View Wine Bar, Oulton Broad, SLM Toyota Lowestoft, Gt Yarmouth Print Services, Mark Mower Author, NBC Group, Marina Theatre, Norwich City Football Club, Dunstan Hall, Aldeburgh Golf Club, White Start Charter and Richmond Park Golf Club.
There was a slight easterly wind across the Links but the sun shone down to make it a very pleasant day for all who took part starting with breakfast, then tea and cake at the half way house. The days play was followed by a delicious carvery and an auction which raised £1125 of the total amount.
East Coast Hospice would like to send a big thank you to all who gave their day to this very worthy cause and helping us on our way to building a hospice very much needed in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.
