Acle St Edmund Youth Orcestra has produced a second fundraising CD supporting the East Coast Hospice Appeal. The artwork was created by Mark Cator.

Recorded at The Open venue in Norwich the Acle St Edmund Youth Orchestra has produced a 15-track album called Love’s Always Here now on sale at multiple venues for £5.

The musicians, all aged between 12 to 16 and from the Acle area, aim to raise money for a planned hospice in Sidegate Road, Gorleston.

Elaine Brown who runs Acle SEYO said the album was a mix of original songs, classical favourites, and music everyone will know like Summer Holiday, Rock Around the Clock, and Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

She added: “To have the opportunity to record a second selection of music has been amazing.

“It shows the diversity of music these young musicians can play and also the maturity with which they cope with the demands of not only being in the spotlight at such a young age, but the pressure of recording 15 tracks ‘live’ in four hours.

It was great fun to record, and anyone who is kind enough to purchase a copy will be able to see and hear the enjoyment of that day.

Love’s Always Here is the title track and was written to reflect the basic need in all of us to know unconditional love – and also as a tribute to the care and protection our loved ones receive from hospices up and down the country.

“I know from personal experience, when my mum was living her last weeks, that the love and attention from hospice staff cannot be measured.”

David Royse, technical manager for Open said: “Working with Elaine is always a pleasure and she never fails to impress with her level of dedication and commitment in helping the young people of SEYO develop their musical abilities and experience in such an exciting way.

“She has an almost infectious passion for music and the orchestra, and being able to work with her to put these two albums together has been an experience I will never forget.”

Acle SEYO began in 2005 for local children to meet and share their music.

Over the years it has grown into a quality youth orchestra, playing a full programme of concerts in the Acle/Norwich area.

The CD is on sale in all East Coast Hospice charity shops, Carter’s Butchers in Acle, and from Acle Primary School.
