East Coast Hospice , in association with The Hon. Jacquetta Cator, had the most wonderful Family Garden Open Day at The Old House. Ranworth on Sunday 28th May. 10am-4pm.
Situated next to Ranworth Broad on one side and St. Helens Church (the Cathedral of the Broads) on the other, these beautiful gardens are rarely open to the public. The attending crowds were delighted by the Acle St. Edmund Youth Orchestra and the Rackheath Primary School Musicians providing wonderful musical entertainment in the walled garden, whilst the old stable block marquee area was just the perfect place to indulge in a treat of delicious homemade cake and a beverage.
Craft Fayre Stalls were trading on the old tennis courts with a wide variety of goods on sale and families with children enjoyed finding the clues for the nature trail organised in the gardens.
The day was a fantastic success raising a magnificent £1069.63 in support of the hospice appeal. We have kindly been invited to hold another Open Garden Day in 2018 the date is yet to be confirmed, so keep a look out on our events page.
